Ugh....Unemployed after all these years...

Well, it looks as if none of us are safe...as far as our jobs. As all of you know, I have always worked hard...and I thought I was "safe". Well, I wasn't. I was "laid off" due to company "down sizeing" this week. Damn economy!

I am sending out resumes...posting my resumes to job sites...and wishing on a star! LOL...I am keeping my fingers crossed that something comes up soon. Yes, there is unemployment, however; Arizona pays out the lowest amount in unemployment in the entire country...so it won't help much. Not with rent, utilities, kids...and on and on...

I will keep you all posted on my job hunt....and, oh...if you know anyone looking for an Account Manager for Employee Benefits....give them my number!! But, it will need to be here in Arizona...sorry everyone, however; we are not coming back to Chicago just because of a minor set back.

You all know how I am...I have been thru the worst ...so, when something happens and puts a detour in my path...I just figure out a way around it...as always! 8 )
You all know I will get through this...as I always do in all situations that seem to arise. Just wish me luck!

That time of year...

Well, Colin is starting 1st grade on August 17th and is sooo excited!! We have been getting his school supplies and he loves the new Backagon back pack he picked out! He will be going to Brandy's in the morning so she can take him to school, as Dave & I leave for work before he can go to school. He did great in Kindergarten, so we know he will do just as great in 1st grade. He is excited to meet his new teacher and to start his new class.

Nikki has been writing and calling me and she is doing great as well!! She tried out for Color Guard and she also has been chosen to go sit with little children in town and read to them at story time!! Isn't that great?? She is very excited about it!! Nikki has made us all very proud of her with how well she is doing in this program. She has said that she loves getting all of the letters and cards from everyone and that those letters and cards keep her going. So please, keep writing her!!??

I'm getting ready to have a garage sale next weekend....just clearing out some odds & ends we don't use. Then, Dave & I are getting ready to repaint inside the house and do some more work on Nikki's room. We are going to have fun re-doing the room for her in the Cheetah print she wants!! She is going to love it when she gets home!! I will update you on the progress and show you pics when it is complete as well.

My friend Jeannie just moved out here in February...her and I went to high school together and we had not seen each other in years!! It was so great to get together yesterday and catch up on everything!! We will be hanging out a lot now and having fun with our kids and husbands...

The weather here is starting to cool down...mid to high 90's. But, remember, it has been like 117...so this is a cool down for us. Plus, it has been in the 70's at nite and beautiful!!
